Our experience spans over a quarter century as former owners and operator of The Patio Restaurant and Banquet Center at 7706 Broadway in Merrillville. We have also been the caterer of choice for two additional facilities in the Merrillville area, the elegant Croatian Center and the renown Hellenic Center. When the community and businesses of Northwest Indiana had a demand for additional banquet and meeting facilities, we listened and took our many years of experience and success to undertake the building of The Avalon Manor.

Our elegant 30,000 square foot facility is the largest freestanding banquet and meeting center in Northwest Indiana. The office staff aims to finalize every detail ahead of time, but the serving staff aims to take care of request and need that day. We pride ourselves on the reputation we have earned for providing the best service and food for banquet events and plan to live up to it every day.
  • We respond to what clients want! Since the opening of Avalon Manor Banquet Center in 2000, we’ve undergone two major renovations; we regularly update furniture, and modernize the inside of the ballrooms. Schedule a tour with our Sales Coordinators to see the newly painted ballrooms.
  • The décor radiates elegance, but the neutral colors and ambiance relates to every type of event and color scheme. From formal weddings to casual family reunions, our ballrooms suit your ideal look.
  • Our ballrooms expand and downsize to customize the space for any size head count. We host events as few as 20 guests for a small baby shower to 1,100 for a fundraising dinner gala and everything in between!
  • Our backyard is beautiful! We are located on protected wetlands, so the scenery is natural and lush. It is something our guests would never expect, being situated on a main road like Route 30 (East Lincoln Highway). Each ballroom includes patio doors leading out to this peaceful and pristine environment for guests to enjoy the fresh air and a quieter area to mingle. The fountain in the pond bordered by a colorful forest of trees, weeping willows surrounding the gazebo and professionally landscaped grounds create an immaculate, photogenic backdrop for any event!
  • Every ballroom includes your own private bridal suite. For brides, this amenity is invaluable. Brides with wedding ceremonies in one of our gazebos have the luxury of getting into their wedding dress on-site. Couples with off-site ceremonies have a place to relax and have a moment before getting their evening started. With a private restroom and plenty of mirrors, the private bridal suite is the perfect space for touch-ups throughout the evening and a quiet space to give you a break. Many of our fundraising dinners, baby showers, and corporate clients even use these bridal suites to change into formal wear after organizing auction tables, awards tables, or decorations. Many of our clients use these spaces for smaller meetings or green rooms for guest speakers. These spaces are so beneficial for all types of events and situations.
  • We are eager and available to help. Our office staff responds quickly to emails, phone calls, and voicemails. We offer advice, recommendations, and as many tools as we can to make your event planning as easy as possible. Being comfortable and confident in your Sales Coordinator is essential to choosing the right venue. That person is there for you from the beginning to the end. We highly value each and every one of our clients and do our best to make their day amazing!

We are 1.7 miles East of Interstate 65, 45 minutes away from downtown Chicago, and one hour away from two major airports.
